New Delhi, December 8 (IANS). While giving information in Parliament on Monday, Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that till November 20 this year, 8.17 crore vacancies were made available for all job seekers on the government’s National Career Service (NCS) portal.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Mandaviya said that since the launch of the NCS portal till November 20, 6.02 crore job seekers and 54.27 lakh employers have been registered in women, SC/ST and EWS categories.

He further said that the Ministry is running the NCS portal, which acts as a one-stop solution for career related services. The platform provides information related to private and government sectors, online-offline job fairs, job search and matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, skill development courses and training programs.

He further said that to deliver employment related services in the NCS project, it is also being considered to setup Model Career Centers (MCCs) in collaboration with the state and institutions. Apart from this, so far 407 model career centers have received approval from the Centre.

Union Minister Mandaviya had recently quoted the World Economic Forum’s ‘Future of Jobs Report 2025’ and said that India’s unemployment rate is 2 percent, which is the lowest among the G-20 countries. He also highlighted India’s rapid economic growth as well as employment generation in various sectors and government schemes that contribute in this direction.

Giving information, he said that the Ministry has signed MoUs with ten major organizations including Amazon and Swiggy in the last one year. Furthermore, he informed that around five lakh vacancies have been introduced so far through these partnerships.
