New Delhi, March 24 (IANS). Airtel Broadband is in the news for its poor service in some sectors of Noida. Users say that even after paying, there is a daily outage of 6-7 hours in the last one month. At the same time, Airtel is also not listening to this problem.
According to local residents of Sector 143, Noida, Airtel broadband has been experiencing so many interruptions over the past month that they have been left with no option but to switch to other internet service providers.
Deb, a resident of Gulshan Ikebana Society, Sector 143, said, “Our experience with the Airtel network has been very bad since the beginning of February this year. The internet often goes down for 5-6 hours and there is no relief yet.”
Airtel broadband service also witnessed continuous 5-6 hour long interruption on Monday and Tuesday this week.
According to local people and sources, Noida Authority is carrying out sewer construction work in the nearby area and their JCB crane is repeatedly hitting Airtel cables, causing internet shutdown.
When IANS contacted Airtel and the Noida Authority, both did not respond to queries.
According to Rashmi, who lives in a nearby society and works from home, due to the repeated shutdown of Airtel, her entire work has come to a standstill as she is completely dependent on Wi-Fi service.
He further said, “This has never happened before, Airtel’s service has been reliable till now. My entire day’s planning has been affected by these interruptions. I have no option but to switch to Reliance Jio.”
He further said, “Why can’t Airtel officials discuss this issue in detail with the Noida Authority and resolve it and ensure uninterrupted service to its customers?”
Meanwhile, Airtel users in Delhi and surrounding areas also faced severe disruption last year, with many complaining of problems in making calls, sending messages and accessing the internet. Some also said that they are not getting any signal at all.
The company later restored service. A statement from the company said, “Our customers in Delhi-NCR have been experiencing some issues with voice calling for the last one hour. A major part of the issue has been resolved and our engineers are working to completely fix it. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
