The day after Atlas’ launch, OpenAI announced that it had acquired the team behind Apple Shortcuts. The team that created Apple’s flagship automation app, Shortcuts, is now owned by OpenAI. This team initially created Workflow, after which Apple acquired them and entrusted them with creating shortcut automation.
Sky Team is deeply integrating automation into MacBooks
The Apple team that created the shortcut had already left Apple. This team was running Sky AI. The team at Sky was working on an AI-powered natural language interface. This interface, also for Apple’s Mac computers, acts as an agent on the desktop, allowing users to perform tasks ranging from coding to planning. Just as tools like ChatGPT work on the web, Sky works natively on a MacBook, completing tasks automatically without user intervention. For example, you can make your MacBook do any task through Sky.

Why does Google seem to be lagging behind in the race of OpenAI?
Google had lagged behind in the AI race for some time, but is now moving forward rapidly. However, it still seems that Google is constantly competing with other AI companies, one of the prominent names of which is Perplexity.
