New Delhi, November 10 (IANS). According to Ayurveda, blood in our body is not just a fluid, but it is the real source of life, energy, color and radiance. When impurities or defects (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) increase in the blood, it is called Raktadosha.
This happens when our digestion becomes weak, we eat wrong food or the body’s balance gets disturbed. Gradually this blood becomes impure and causes various diseases in the body.
Anemia occurs due to many reasons. Excessive spicy, fried or packaged food, constipation, stress and lack of sleep are the main reasons for this. Apart from this, excessive consumption of medicines, drinking alcohol, hormonal imbalance or infection can also contaminate the blood. When the blood does not remain clean, its effect is first visible on the skin. Pimples, itching, rashes, hair fall, fatigue, joint pain and even liver and kidney problems start appearing on the face.
In Ayurveda, blood has been called ‘life element’. Therefore it is very important to keep the blood pure. Many easy home remedies have been suggested in Ayurveda which purify the blood without any side effects, like drinking some neem leaves or its decoction on an empty stomach every morning removes blood impurities. The herb named Manjistha is also very beneficial. Taking its powder with milk or lukewarm water provides relief from pimples and skin diseases. Triphala powder also improves digestion and removes toxins from the body.
Garlic and Giloy are considered to be the best remedies to purify the blood. Eat 2 raw garlic cloves daily with lukewarm water and take Giloy juice in the morning, this increases immunity and keeps the blood pure. Beetroot and carrot juice also helps in increasing hemoglobin and detoxifying the body. Drinking lemon-honey water on an empty stomach in the morning keeps the liver clean and the body feels light.
It is important not only to take medicines but also to improve lifestyle. Drink lukewarm water every day, eat simple food, avoid foods containing sugar and flour. Do some exercise and pranayam (especially Kapalbhati and Anulom-Vilom). Get enough sleep and stay away from stress.
