New Delhi, May 2 (IANS). PM Mitra Mega Textile Park located in Warangal, Telangana is all set to give impetus to India’s textile industry. PM Mitra Kakatiya Mega Textile Park (KMTP) being built in Warangal will prove to give a new impetus to India’s textile industry. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this mega textile park virtually from Hyderabad on May 10, 2026. This information was given by Union Coal and Mines Minister G Kishan Reddy while sharing a post on social media platform X on Saturday.
The Union Minister said that this park is being developed as a world class integrated textile hub, which will give a big boost to manufacturing, employment and exports.
The minister further informed that the total project cost of Kakatiya Mega Textile Park is around Rs 1,695.54 crore. There is a possibility of investment of more than Rs 6,000 crore in this project, out of which Rs 3,800 crore has been invested so far.
Reddy said that this park, spread over about 1,327 acres, is one of the largest textile parks in the country. It has been selected as a brownfield mega textile park under the PM MITRA (Prime Minister Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel) scheme. This is being considered an important step towards realizing the Prime Minister’s 5F vision – from farm to fibre, from fiber to factory, from factory to fashion and from fashion to abroad.
Elaborating on this, the Union Minister said that 62 percent area in this textile park has already been allotted to anchor investors. At the same time, basic facilities like roads, water and street lights inside the park are almost complete.
Apart from this, the work of 232/132/33 KV power substation and 220 KV transmission line is in the final stage. 12 MLD (million liters per day) water supply system is also being prepared rapidly. Keeping the environment in mind, the first phase of 5 MLD CETP (Common Effluent Treatment Plant) is in trial run with ‘Zero Liquid Discharge’.
Once fully operational, this project is expected to create more than 24,400 employment opportunities, while so far around 2,000 people have been employed. This will not only increase employment at the local level, but will also accelerate economic activities in the surrounding areas.
With strategic location, plug-and-play facilities and a strong integrated ecosystem, this park will play a key role in taking India’s textile sector to new heights.
The Union Minister said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Central Government is making continuous efforts to strengthen the industrial infrastructure of the country and make India a global textile hub. This mega textile park is a big and decisive step in that direction.
