New Delhi, November 2 (IANS). To enhance the Research and Development (R&D) ecosystem in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme of Rs 1 lakh crore on Monday.

During this, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025 and address the people at Bharat Mandapam located in the national capital.

The objective of the RDI scheme is to promote private sector driven research and development ecosystem in the country.

The ESTIC 2025 Conclave will be held between 3-5 November. It will include representatives from academia, research institutes, industry and government as well as Nobel laureates, scientists, innovators and policy makers.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the deliberations will focus on 11 key thematic areas, including Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Manufacturing, Blue Economy, Digital Communication, Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing, Emerging Agricultural Technologies, Energy, Environment and Climate, Health and Medical Technologies, Quantum Science and Technology and Space Technology.

“ESTIC 2025 will feature panel discussions, presentations and technology demonstrations by leading scientists, providing a platform for collaboration between researchers, industry and young innovators to strengthen India’s science and technology ecosystem,” the statement further said.

According to Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, ‘ESTIC 2025’ is a platform for young innovators, startups and researchers to showcase new solutions, seek guidance and connect with industry and stakeholders.

‘ESTIC 2025’ is designed as an outcome-focused platform that strengthens the contributions of stakeholders while fostering collaboration between researchers, entrepreneurs, industry and funding bodies.
