New Delhi, December 19 (IANS). Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PMVBRY) aims to create more than 3.5 crore new jobs in 2 years across the country. The government has set a budget of Rs 99,446 crore for this scheme.

Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State in the Ministry of Labor and Employment and Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, told in the Rajya Sabha that under ‘Part A’ of the scheme, the employees who get employed for the first time will be given incentive amount by the government. This amount will be equal to one month’s EPF salary of the employee, with a maximum limit of Rs 15,000.

He said that this incentive amount will be given in two installments during the first year of employment. The first installment, which will be a maximum of Rs 7,500, will be given on completion of 6 months of employment.

The second installment will be available after completion of 12 months of employment and completion of a financial literacy program. This second amount will be deposited directly into the savings account or any secured savings scheme.

The Minister of State said that companies and employers will be given benefits in ‘Part B’ of the scheme. If an employer hires additional employees for at least 6 months, he will be given assistance of up to Rs 3,000 per month for each such employee from the government.

This scheme will be applicable from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2027. This benefit will be available on jobs created during this period. The scheme was approved by the Union Cabinet on July 1, 2025. Its objective is to increase employment, increase the working capacity of people and strengthen social security, especially in MSME, rural industries and manufacturing sectors.

Earlier, the government had launched the Self-reliant India Employment Scheme (ABRY), which was brought to encourage employers providing jobs during the Corona epidemic.

The minister said that the last date of registration in this scheme was 31 March 2022, under which the beneficiaries got benefits for 2 years. According to the government, from the beginning of the scheme till 31 March 2024, 60.49 lakh people have been provided the benefits of this scheme.
