Jaipur, May 15 (IANS). Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday inaugurated the state’s first semiconductor cluster in Bhiwadi, and said work on the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project connecting Rajasthan to Delhi via Haryana and the Yamuna water agreement is going on at a fast pace.
Addressing a virtual program of several development projects of Bhiwadi and Khairthal-Tijara, the Chief Minister said that the state government is rapidly pushing industrial development through policy reforms, expansion of infrastructure and renewable energy initiatives.
He said that by implementing 35 policies in the last two years, the state government has created a favorable environment for industries. This is a big step towards realizing the vision of ‘Developed India, Developed Rajasthan 2047’.
The Chief Minister was addressing the program through video conferencing from his official residence. During this, the foundation stone of several projects including Alsina Electronics Complex and 34 million liter per day capacity Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in Bhiwadi was laid and inaugurated. Besides, various development works were also started in Khairthal-Tijara district.
He said that along with speedy implementation of the Yamuna Water Agreement, a large industrial area would also be developed at Bandikui near Alwar. He described the semiconductor cluster built in Bhiwadi as a big achievement for the state.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is preparing a blueprint for rural development which will include cultural heritage, environment and local needs. A decision has also been taken to establish ‘Atal Knowledge Center’ at the Panchayat level to provide facilities to the rural youth.
He said that as per the expectations of the public, the state government has given top priority to meeting the needs of electricity and water.
The Chief Minister said that electricity is now being provided to farmers during day time in 24 districts of the state. He said that to fulfill the promise of providing 4 lakh jobs, the government has so far provided employment to more than 1.25 lakh youth. Apart from this, calendar of 1.25 lakh new recruitments has been released and the appointment process is going on for more than 1.35 lakh posts.
Union Railways and Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the semiconductor industry is very important. He said that there are now 12 semiconductor plants in India, where chips are being made for various electronic devices. Rajasthan has also now joined the states joining this industry.
He said that the value of electronics manufacturing in India has increased six times to Rs 13 lakh crore. Mobile phones have now become India’s largest export product. The Union Minister said that 75 projects have been approved under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme.
He said an investment of Rs 1,200 crore is being made in the Bhiwadi Electronic Manufacturing Cluster, which is expected to generate about 2,500 jobs. A target has been set to manufacture 6 crore chips every year in this plant.
Vaishnav said that under the Amrit Yojana, 85 railway stations are being developed in Rajasthan, out of which work on 15 has been completed. Alwar railway station will also be equipped with modern facilities.
Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that a 34 MLD sewage treatment plant built at a cost of Rs 61 crore was inaugurated in Bhiwadi. Along with this, the foundation stone of the treated water pipeline project costing more than Rs 52 crore was also laid.
He said that the government is committed to developing Bhiwadi as a major manufacturing hub of the country. He said that along with the automobile industry, Bhiwadi will also progress rapidly in semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.
