New Delhi, February 19 (IANS). Telangana as an emerging hub of artificial intelligence (AI) based innovation was highlighted during the ‘India AI Impact Summit – 2026’ held in Delhi on Thursday. Industry and Information Technology Minister D. Sridhar Babu presented the achievements and prospects of the state at the US-India Business Council (USIBC) roundtable.
The minister said that with world-class infrastructure and a strong technology ecosystem, Telangana provides a scalable and future-oriented platform for US investors. He pointed out that visionary and stable policies have created a strong foundation for AI research and its effective use.
He said that public-private partnerships are being taken forward with leading American tech companies. Also, good governance is being strengthened by real-time monitoring of public services through Artificial Intelligence.
According to the minister, the state government is making Telangana a leader in this field by setting up AI innovation centers in sectors like health, agriculture, education and urban development. The development of AI universities, AI hubs and skilled workforce will be given top priority in the upcoming budget.

He further said that Telangana is driving innovation with sustainable, participatory and citizen-centric governance through initiatives like AIKAM, TGDEX, AI City and Bharat Future City.
During the summit, the Minister also had fruitful discussions with Nezar Patria, Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs of Indonesia. The meeting considered the proposal to set up the Hyderabad-Jakarta Technology Skills Development Corridor, which aims to promote exchange of technical talent, strengthen skill development framework and deepen collaboration between the startup and innovation ecosystems of Telangana and Indonesia.
The Minister reiterated that Telangana is fully committed to innovation-led development and global cooperation.
