Bengaluru, May 14 (IANS). Elon Musk’s EV company Tesla opened its first experience center in Whitefield area on Thursday. This is considered a big step in the EV expansion of the company.
The company said that now customers will be able to experience the Model Y and the recently launched Model YL (with prices starting at Rs 61.99 lakh (ex-showroom)) at the new showroom located in the technology hub of the city.
Tesla launched its after-sales service network in Whitefield to provide a better experience to customers in Bengaluru in view of the growing interest towards electric vehicles in the country.
The six-seat electric SUV model YL offers a driving range of up to 681 km (WLTP) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in about five seconds, the company said.
The electric SUV has up to 2,539 liters of cargo space and features a three-row seating arrangement, suitable for families seeking more interior space and comfort.
Additionally, Tesla noted that both the Model Y and Model YL have received top safety ratings from multiple global safety agencies, including NHTSA and IIHS in the US, Euro NCAP in Europe, and ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand.
The company said that with Tesla Supercharging, the Model YL can achieve a range of up to 288 kilometers in just 15 minutes of charging.
The company further said that home charging support will also be available in India to increase the convenience of electric vehicle users.
The company has started taking orders for the Model YL through its official website.
Apart from Bengaluru, Tesla currently operates experience centers in Mumbai’s BKC, Delhi’s Aerocity and Gurugram.
