Tesla, the world’s well-known electric car manufacturing company, no longer wants to limit its presence in India to just selling cars. The company’s plans are much bigger than that. Its aim is to increase its work in different sectors like technology, energy and manufacturing. This clearly shows that Tesla sees India not just as a customer market but as a major technology hub.

Tesla is working rapidly to strengthen its presence in India. The company’s strategy involves more than just selling vehicles; She is also preparing to work actively in different fields like AI, software, hardware, battery technology and supply chain management. For this purpose, Tesla is currently hiring people for different positions in many cities.

Where is this technology used?
These hiring efforts are an indication of the company’s intention to create a big technology center in India. Engineers working in this center can focus on advanced technologies like AI systems, chip design, software development and automation. These technologies are critical to Tesla’s self-driving vehicles, robotics initiatives, and other projects. Additionally, Tesla aims to strengthen its manufacturing and supply chain infrastructure within India. There is also a possibility that Tesla may launch its humanoid robot, ‘Optimus’ in India in the future.

What is Tesla’s strategy?
The company plans to work with local suppliers for the materials used in making batteries as well as vehicle components. In this way the level of domestic production can increase and the cost of manufacturing can also be reduced. Apart from technology and manufacturing, Tesla is also considering entering India’s energy sector. The company is actively working on large-scale energy storage solutions with the aim of making electricity supplies more reliable and stable in the future. However, the road ahead for Tesla in India is not without challenges.

Due to high import taxes on vehicles in India, the final price of these vehicles increases significantly, which subsequently affects the sales volume. Additionally, the Indian market already has strong competitors like Tata Motors, BYD and many other German carmakers. Still, Tesla sees India as a big and long-term opportunity. The company is gradually expanding its charging network, service centers and technology infrastructure here to establish its strong foothold in the future.
