Pakistan has always refused to declare Ajmal Kasab, the only convict caught alive in the Mumbai terror attack, as its citizen, but evidence has been found many times. Now once again Pakistan PM Imran Khan’s minister Rashid Sheikh has confirmed that he was a resident of Faridkot district of Pakistan. Not only this, Sheikh Rashid also claimed that former PM Nawaz Sharif had informed India about Ajmal Kasab’s Faridkot address. Rashid has made this disclosure at a time when Imran Khan’s government is going through a crisis and a no-confidence motion has been presented against him in Parliament by the opposition.
Sheikh Rashid said in a program, ‘Ajmal Kasab’s Faridkot address was given to India by Nawaz Sharif. If this proves to be wrong, then the punishment for the thief is my punishment. During this, Pakistan’s PM Imran Khan was also present in the program. Sheikh Rashid also attacked opposition leader Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion. Rashid said, ‘Asif Ali Zardari was also saying that I am the leader of only one or two seats. But it is a matter of happiness that during the era of Imran Khan, I got a chance to do politics. Sheikh Rashid said that I always used to say that stumbling these people, but Imran Khan always forgives.
How Ajmal Kasab’s mention came amid the no-confidence motion
Imran Khan is taking recourse to Islam and India to save his falling government. On the one hand, he is telling the opposition parties to work under the pressure of India, while on the other hand he is calling himself a leader with an independent image and serving the interests of Pakistanis. Actually, Imran Khan is trying to save his government by creating a tide of nationalism. Recently, in one of his meetings too, Imran Khan had said that the earlier governments were behind the US and were getting him drone strikes in his own country. Referring to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Imran Khan said that thousands of tribals were killed in these attacks.
