Today 75th Independence Day is being celebrated with great pomp across the country. On the occasion of this special festival, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation for the eighth time today from the Red Fort. PM Modi wished the countrymen a Happy Independence Day. In his address, PM Modi said that in the Corona global pandemic, be it our doctors, our nurses, our paramedical staff, scavengers, scientists engaged in making vaccines, citizens engaged in service, all of them also deserve to be worshipped. He said that whether India’s first Prime Minister Nehru ji, Sardar Patel, who turned the country into a united nation or Babasaheb Ambedkar, who showed India the way to the future, the country is remembering every such personality, the country is indebted to all of them.

On this occasion of independence, Prime Minister Modi also mentioned about the partition of the country. He said that we celebrate independence, but the pain of partition still pierces the chest of India. It is one of the greatest tragedies of the last century. The country has taken an emotional decision only yesterday. From now on August 14 will be remembered as Partition Vibhishika Memorial Day. He further said that this period of Corona has come as a big challenge in front of our country, which is moving on the path of progress, in front of the entire human race. The people of India have fought this battle with restraint and patience.

He further said that India’s potential needs to be properly harnessed to take India to new heights in the 21st century. For this we have to hold the hand of the square behind the field. PM Modi said that the government will fortify the rice given to the poor under its various schemes and provide nutritious rice to the poor. PM Modi said that today a new history of connectivity is being written in the North-East. This connectivity lies in the hearts as well as the infrastructure. The work of connecting all the state capitals of the Northeast with railways is going to be completed very soon. Whether it is our Eastern India, North-East, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh including the entire Himalayan region, whether we are coastal areas or tribal areas, it will be a major basis for the development of future India.
PM Modi said that in villages where more than 8 crore of our sisters are associated with self-help groups, they make better products one by one. The government will set up an e-commerce platform for their products to find a bigger market at home and abroad. PM Modi said that our dream is that a small farmer should become the pride of the country. In the coming years, we have to increase the collective power of the small farmers of the country. They have to provide new facilities. More than 80 percent of the farmers in the country are those who have less than 2 hectares of land. In the country where the first policies were made, the focus was on these small farmers. Now decisions are being taken keeping these small farmers in mind.
From the Red Fort, PM Modi said that in the 75th week of the Amrit Festival of Independence, the 75th Vande Bharat train will connect every nook and corner of the country. Airports are being built in the country at a new pace. The UDAN scheme has taken flight to the dreams of the people. PM Modi said that the country will soon announce the Pradhan Mantri Shakti Yojana. It will be a Rs 100 lakh crore scheme which will provide employment opportunities to lakhs of youth. This will be a masterplan for the country which will lay the foundation for new infrastructure.
