Eight civilians have lost their lives in air strikes by America and Israel on the historic B1 Bridge located in Karaj city of Iran. About 95 people have been injured in this attack who have been admitted to local hospitals for treatment. The attack occurred on Thursday 2 April 2026 and has further escalated the already ongoing military tensions in the region.

The B1 Bridge located in Iran’s Alborz province was targeted twice. According to reports, those killed included passers-by, residents of local villages and families who had come to celebrate Nature Day. The bridge is part of a main road connecting Tehran and Karaj and is considered the highest bridge in the Middle East.

In response to this attack, Iranian media has shown major bridges of several neighboring countries as possible targets. This includes the names of infrastructure from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait and Jordan. This is a matter of concern for Indian expatriates living in Gulf countries as increased tensions may lead to changes in air travel and security rules. American military officials claim that this bridge was being used for supplying missiles and drones, hence it was targeted.
