A major peace agreement is going to be signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt on Monday. According to information received from sources, the Gaza ceasefire countries, America, Egypt, Qatar and possibly Turkey, will formally sign this agreement, which will take steps towards ending this long war. This summit is being hosted by America and Egypt.
Israel declared its victory over Hamas
Recently Israel announced its victory over Hamas. Along with this, it is preparing to release its surviving hostages, which is an important part of Donald Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan. Under this, Israel will release about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners after Hamas gives up its hands.
The negotiators had not been able to agree on the final lists till late Sunday night. Two Hamas sources said the organization wants Israel to release seven senior Palestinian leaders, some of whom Israel had previously refused to release.
the fight is not over yet
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “This is an evening full of emotions, tears and joy because tomorrow our children will return home. Together we have achieved a great victory, but the fight is not over yet.” Israel’s army chief, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, also said continued military pressure and diplomatic efforts over the past two years had ensured “victory over Hamas.”
Netanyahu’s office spokeswoman Shosh Bedrosian said the release of all 20 surviving hostages would begin simultaneously on Monday morning. Trump will then travel to Israel, address parliament and then fly to Egypt, where he will co-chair a conference in support of Middle East peace and an end to the Gaza war.
47 dead and living hostages of Hamas will be released
According to Hamas sources, Hamas will release 47 hostages (both alive and dead) who were abducted during the attack on 7 October 2023, which killed 1,219 people, mostly civilians. Along with this, the remains of an Israeli soldier killed in 2014 will also be handed over. Of the 2,000 Palestinian prisoners Israel will release, 250 are “security prisoners,” while about 1,700 were arrested during the war in Gaza.
Leaders of more than 20 countries will participate in the conference
The conference will be jointly chaired by US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. It will be attended by leaders of more than 20 countries, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italy’s Georgia Meloni, Spain’s Pedro Sanchez, Jordan’s King Abdullah and French President Emmanuel Macron. But let us tell you that neither Israeli nor Hamas representatives will be present in this summit.
Some relief trucks were able to enter Gaza as the ceasefire continued for the third day, but there were reports of mobs looting aid in Khan Yunis. People say that they fear that the war may start again, so they are stockpiling food items.
