Washington DC in mid -August 2025 A high level peace meeting is going to be held in. It will hold talks between Ukraine President Volodimir Zelansky and US President Donald Trump as well as several big European leaders. The chances of significant discussion about peace agreements in the meeting are in discussion. This meeting can prove to be a decisive turn towards ending the Russia-Ukraine war.
However, this meeting will not be successful with Trump’s initial 8 statements. In view of the proposed meeting at the White House, Trump insisted that Ukraine can only look for the end of war if he accepts two major conditions. The first condition, Russia’s control over Crimea and second, renounce the hope of NATO membership. Trump wrote in a social media post that Zelanceci can end the “almost immediate” war, if they want, but Crimea will not get back and it is not possible to join NATO.
Unlike these conditions of Trump in this global debate, France, Germany, UK, Finland’s Prime Minister and NATO chief, are coming to Washington to support Zelancesi and ensure a significant security guarantee. He has clarified that geopolitical agreements will be against the Constitution and weaken the sovereignty of Ukraine, which they are strongly rejected.
After the meeting of Trump and Putin in Alaska, Trump has started supporting the exact peace agreement, not the immediate ceasefire, indicating that international pressure is now towards peace. American diplomats have indicated that the potential agreement may include ‘Article 5’ security guarantee like NATO-NATO-like, which may be the basis in Ukraine’s protection.
