‘Black rain’ wreaks havoc in Iran after Israeli attack, people in Tehran warned to stay at home

The situation has worsened after Israeli air strikes in Tehran. After the attacks on oil depots and refineries, clouds of black smoke have covered the sky. When people woke up on Sunday morning, they saw that ‘black rain’ was falling in the city. The Iranian government has called it acid rain and asked people to be careful. The oil depot has suffered huge damage in this attack.

Danger of poisonous air and acid rain in Tehran

The Iranian Red Crescent has issued a warning saying that the explosions at the oil depot have spread dangerous chemicals into the air. The rain caused by this is extremely poisonous and acidic, which can be fatal for common people.

Officials said that this rain can burn the skin and cause severe damage to the lungs. Iran’s Environment Department has appealed to people to stay indoors and avoid going out. The Red Crescent has also advised that people should not run their air conditioners at all during and immediately after rain. Residents of Tehran say that the sky has become completely black and even sunlight is not visible, due to which the atmosphere looks very scary.

Attack on oil depot and death of 4 people

According to reports, Israel targeted four oil depots and a transport center in Tehran and Alborz on the evening of Saturday, March 6, 2026. The impact of these attacks was visible across the city on Sunday.

Four people have died in this attack, including two oil tanker drivers. According to the National Iranian Oil Products Company, the fire has now been brought under control, but the damage caused a temporary disruption of fuel supplies in Tehran. The oil depot located in Shahran has suffered the most damage in this attack. The Israeli Army (IDF) has stated that these fuel depots were being used by the military, hence they have been targeted.
