Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, being built in Saadiyat Cultural District of Abu Dhabi, is now on the verge of completion. The Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT) has confirmed that this huge museum will be opened to the public in 2026. At present the construction of the building is in the final stage and finishing work is going on. This museum is known for its unique design and its opening is expected to give a big boost to tourism in UAE.

When will the museum start and how much work has been done so far?
According to officials, the year of opening of the museum has been fixed in 2026, although no firm date or month has been announced yet. By the end of 2024 and beginning of 2025, more than 76 percent of its work had been completed. The building’s main structures, such as its famous metallic cones, are now fully visible. It has been designed by famous architect Frank Gehry and is considered to be one of his greatest masterpieces.
What are the ticket prices and rules for visitors?
People have many questions in their minds regarding ticket prices. The prices have not been announced officially yet, but industry experts believe that its ticket price could be around Louvre Abu Dhabi. The price is expected to be around 60 to 63 dirhams (AED) for adults. People visiting will have to follow some rules:
To visit the museum, online booking will be necessary so that the crowd can be controlled. General UAE rules regarding clothing will have to be followed, in which shoulders and knees should be covered. Any kind of noise or actions that cause damage to artefacts will be strictly prohibited inside the museum.
What special will be seen in this museum?
This will be the world’s largest Guggenheim museum, which is spread over about 3,20,000 square feet. According to recent information, more than 600 artefacts from 1965 till now will be kept here. In this, along with the works of great artists like Pollock, Warhol and Basquiat, glimpses of artists from the Middle East and South Asia will also be seen. After Zayed National Museum and Natural History Museum on Saadiyat Island, it is going to become another big attraction for tourists.
