The missile and drone attacks being carried out by Iran for the last 26 days have increased security concerns in many Gulf countries including the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to official data, these attacks have targeted civilian targets, causing loss of life and property. What was the impact of the attacks on UAE?
According to the report released by the UAE Defense Ministry, Iran has used a large amount of weapons in these attacks which started from 28 February 2026. These attacks mainly targeted populated areas and civilian infrastructure. The UAE’s air defense systems have foiled most of these attacks, but there have been incidents of fires in cities caused by falling debris.
So far 357 ballistic missiles have been fired towards UAE. A total of 1,806 drone attacks have been confirmed. 8 people have died in these attacks, including 2 military personnel. A total of 157 people were injured and civilian property was damaged in parts of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
What is the latest situation in neighboring countries and other areas?
Iran’s attacks are not limited to UAE only but Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain have also been targeted. On March 24, an attack on Bahrain killed a Moroccan citizen serving with the UAE military. Missile debris downed power lines in Kuwait, causing power outages in many areas. There is also news of damage to an industrial area in Qatar.

Presidential advisor Anwar Gargash said the UAE has the full right to defend itself, but the country is trying to maintain peace through restraint and dialogue.
