The Israeli army has issued a new order for civilians living in the southern parts of the Zahrani River in southern Lebanon to evacuate their homes. The army has asked the people to immediately move towards the north for their safety. This warning has been issued on March 31, 2026, as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah are at their peak in the area. According to the Lebanese government, about 1.2 million people have been displaced so far.

Israeli army warning and buffer zone plan
Israeli military spokesman avichay adraee informed through social media that the lives of people living south of the Zahrani River may be in danger. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has indicated that the Army wants to create a buffer zone of about 30 kilometers up to the Litani River. He says that until the people of northern Israel feel safe, the displaced people will not be allowed to return. Humanitarian organizations believe that this situation may continue for a long time.
