A civil defense ambulance was targeted in an Israeli attack on 28 March 2026 in the Kfar Tebnit area of southern Lebanon. One paramedic died and four others were injured in this attack. Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) and Al Jazeera English had given information about this incident.
What do officials and Israel say?
Lebanon’s Health Ministry has strongly condemned this attack. The ministry called it a violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention and termed it a “war crime”. At the same time, the Israeli army has accused Hezbollah of military use of the ambulance. Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee warned that Israel would take action against any military activity under international law if Hezbollah used medical facilities or ambulances.
Increasing violence in the area and impact on health workers
The attack is part of a larger ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which escalated in early March 2026. Israel is continuously carrying out airstrikes targeting many cities of southern and eastern Lebanon like Haboush, Kfar Tebnit, Yahmar, Zifta Valley and Arab Salim. According to data from the Lebanese Health Ministry, at least 42 paramedics have been killed in Israeli strikes since March 2, 2026. This incident reflects this increasing violence and its serious impact on health workers.
