Citizenship verification work is going on very fast in Kuwait. Recently a big news has come out where Kuwait citizenship of 60 people has been canceled after DNA test. The case involved a Syrian man who falsely claimed to be a Kuwaiti in the 1970s. How was this theft caught in DNA test?
The case came to light when officials searched the old files of that family. Investigation revealed that the person who claimed to be a Kuwaiti was actually a Syrian. At that time, the sons of the real Kuwaiti father also confessed that their father had added this Syrian man to the file by calling him his brother, even though they had no blood relation.
The DNA report also made this clear. When the DNA of the man’s children and the children of his Syrian brothers living in Kuwait was matched, they turned out to be cousins. This made it clear that he was not a part of the Kuwaiti family and had been using a false identity for so many years.
