Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEW) has confirmed that falling drone debris has caused damage to the electricity network in the southern part of the country. The incident occurred when Kuwait’s military shot down the aerial threat, following which its debris fell down. Keeping in view the security, alert is on in the entire country and repair work is going on at a fast pace.

Fatima Hayat reported that two overhead transmission lines were temporarily out of service due to falling debris. However, the ministry took immediate action and shifted the electricity load to other lines. According to officials, this has not caused any major blackout and the production of electricity and water is completely under control. Minor disruption was observed at some places on March 1, but now the system is working normally.
