Britain’s Prince William has reached Saudi Arabia on his first official visit. His plane landed at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Monday, February 9. During this three-day visit he will meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) of Saudi Arabia. This visit is being done to further strengthen the nearly 100 year old diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Itinerary and Major Places
The tour will start from February 9 and continue till February 11, 2026. Prince William has come alone on this trip, Princess Catherine is not present with him. In view of his visit, the UNESCO World Heritage Site At-Turaif located in Diriyah has been closed to the general public on Monday, 9 February. This historical place will reopen for tourists on February 10.
During his visit Prince William will also visit the historic city of AlUla. There he will look at environmental protection and new cultural projects like ‘Prince of Wales House’. In addition, he will also visit MISK Sports City, where he is scheduled to meet Saudi women football players.
Keep an eye on business and new rules
The main objective of this visit is to enhance economic, energy and investment relations between the two countries. This visit is taking place on the special request of the UK Government. Earlier, a UK finance delegation had paved the way for trade and investment agreements worth about 6.4 billion pounds ($8.71 billion). Energy transition and urban development will also be discussed between Prince William and the Saudi leadership under ‘Saudi Vision 2030’.

Visa Rules: UK citizens will now have to follow the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) scheme to travel to Saudi Arabia.
Entry Fee: Entry to At-Turaif is usually free, but in the Diriyah district there is a charge of 195 riyals for services such as valet parking.
E-Sports: Prince William also plans to visit Boulevard City, where he will attend an e-sports tournament.
