The holy month of Ramadan 2026 is scheduled to begin in mid-February. Depending on the sighting of the moon, it may start from 18th or 19th February. This year, the duration of fasting i.e. ‘Fasting Hours’ will be different in different parts of the world. It is important for Indians working in Gulf countries and people living in their country to know the difference between Sehri and Iftar time. This time the fasting period in the Philippines is expected to be the shortest.

According to statistics, this year the fasting time in the Philippines is going to be the shortest, while in countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan this time will be slightly longer. The timing is expected to be almost the same in India and UAE. In the list given below you can see approximately how many hours the fast will last in which country.

Rules and dates related to Ramadan in UAE and other countries

There have been updates regarding the dates of Ramzan in countries like Afghanistan and UAE. The Supreme Court of Afghanistan has said that Ramzan will start from February 18, while in Philippines and Egypt it can start from February 19. Some rules have also changed for migrant workers.

United Arab Emirates (UAE): Here the working hours of private sector employees have been reduced by two hours daily. There will be less working hours for government employees on Friday.
India & Pakistan: In India and Pakistan, the first Roza will be observed from 18th or 19th February depending on the sighting of the moon. Here the fasting time will be between 12.5 to 13.5 hours.
Philippines: Here, government Muslim employees have been given the facility of flexible working hours, that is, they can choose the shift as per their convenience.
