Umm Al-Qura for Development and Construction has started the trial operation of ‘Massar Destination’ in Mecca on 12 March 2026. Under this, ‘Visit Package’ has been launched, through which people will be able to experience the facilities of this new project. This project has been designed to make the journey to Mecca easier and safer for pilgrims and expatriates going for Umrah.

What is Visit Package and its benefits?
This visit package is a kind of trial which has been started to test the Masar destination before it is fully opened to the general public. In this, the facility of shuttle bus system has been provided for the passengers. This bus will go directly from Masar station to Masjid al-Haram (Grand Mosque). The purpose of this trial is to see how easily people can use the 3.65 km long walking path and other facilities. Currently this facility is available to the people coming to the group through the unified digital platform.

Masar Destination Mecca is a big project to further modernize the city. Its infrastructure is approximately 99.77 percent complete. Below are some important points of this project:
Project Size: It is spread over 1.25 million square meters and has a total length of 3.65 kilometers.
Transport facility: In this, separate paths have been made for pedestrians and vehicles so that there is no congestion.
Connectivity: The project connects Mecca’s Third Ring Road and Haramain high-speed railway station directly to Masjid al-Haram.
Target: Under Saudi Vision 2030, it aims to increase the capacity to host 30 million Umrah pilgrims.

Millions of people traveling from India to Saudi Arabia and expatriates living there often visit Mecca for Umrah. With the launch of Masar Destination, their journey will become much more comfortable than before. Now one can reach Masjid al-Haram by taking a bus directly from the station. Apart from this, having a separate path for pedestrians will also increase safety and one will not have to face much crowd on the road. This project will also improve the quality of life for the people living in Mecca.
