Tension at its peak in the Middle East, Iran warns America of ‘war until surrender’

Iran’s military on Thursday issued a strong response to comments made by US President Donald Trump in his address to the nation, in which he warned that the conflict will continue until Washington faces “permanent humiliation, regret and surrender”, Iranian state media Press TV reported.

Iran rejected US claims of damaging Iran’s military infrastructure and capabilities, saying US intelligence about Iran’s military power is “incomplete”, according to a statement issued by the spokesperson of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya central headquarters.

The spokesperson further said that Washington is unaware of the Islamic Republic’s “vast strategic capabilities”, and he rejected Trump’s claims to have “significantly reduced” Tehran’s ability to launch missiles and drones during the conflict.

“Your information about our military power and equipment is incomplete. You are unaware of our vast strategic capabilities. Do not assume that you have destroyed our strategic missile production sites, long-range strike and precision drones, modern air defense systems, electronic warfare systems or special equipment,” the spokesman was quoted as saying by Press TV.

It added, “Such speculations will only deepen the quagmire in which you are stuck. The sites you have attacked are immaterial; our strategic military production takes place in places of which you are not aware and where you will never be able to reach. Do not attempt to count our missiles, drones and strategic systems; you will be proven wrong and nothing will be achieved.”

The Central Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters is Iran’s highest operational command unit that coordinates operations between the Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

The spokesman accused the US of initiating the aggression and vowed to continue retaliating.

According to Press TV, he said, “You will have to pay at all costs for the attack you have launched against our respected, beloved Muslim nation. This war will continue until you face permanent humiliation, repentance and surrender. As a result of the severe blows you have already suffered, we will strike even harder and more devastatingly.”

The incident comes as Trump, in his address to the nation since the start of hostilities against Iran in late February, praised the US military for the “decisive” strike against the Islamic Republic and claimed the main objective of the operation was nearing completion.

The US President said that during this period, Iran’s maritime and air capabilities have been systematically destroyed and the country’s extensive military infrastructure has also been weakened to a great extent.

“Iran’s navy has been destroyed, its air force has been destroyed, and its leaders, most of whom were terrorists, are now dead,” Trump declared.

Describing the impact of the strikes in detail, the President said the opposition’s “ability to launch missiles and drones has been dramatically reduced.”

He said that “the weapons factories and rocket launchers have been completely destroyed – very few of them remain” and claimed that the United States was “winning a greater victory than ever before.”
