UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has given an important message on the occasion of Emirati Children’s Day. He made it clear that the safety, happiness and well-being of children is the country’s biggest priority. It is important for citizens and Indian expatriates living in the UAE to know that the government is continuously taking steps to provide a safe environment for children. In view of the challenges of the present time, the President has appealed to families, teachers and people of the society to assure the safety of children so that they can grow up with confidence and hope.

Theme and new rules of Emirati Children’s Day 2026

Emirati Children’s Day is celebrated every year on 15 March in the UAE. This year the theme of 2026 has been kept as ‘The Right to Digital Knowledge’. This new initiative will directly benefit all those people living in UAE whose children are studying in schools here. Education Minister Sara Al Amiri has also emphasized on making children digitally strong.

Children will be given better information about digital skills and AI (Artificial Intelligence). New campaigns have been launched to protect against online threats and inappropriate digital content. The Digital Protection Decree is focusing on positive use of the Internet for children.

Strict laws for children’s rights and safety

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said that a healthy childhood is a shared responsibility of the entire nation. The ‘Wadima Law’ (Federal Law No. 3, 2016) is in force in the UAE which ensures the right to life and development of every child. This law protects children from any kind of negligence and abuse.

The ‘Child Protection Unit’ of the Ministry of Education is continuously working to ensure that children remain safe both in school and at home. Furthermore, considering the current regional situation, officials clarified that the UAE’s strong air defense system is fully prepared, providing a safe environment to children. Currently, spring break is going on in UAE schools from March 9 to March 22, which is being celebrated this time under the ‘Year of the Family’.
