A lot has been shared with the Reno Duster coming to Nissan Tekton and is to be launched next year
Nissan Motor India today introduced the name and design of its new SUV, showing a completely new Nissan Tekton. This will be the new model in the company’s global SUV lineup. The word “Tekton” is derived from the Greek language, which means “skilled artisan” or “architect” ie “manufacturer”. The name reflects Nissan’s thinking of accurate engineering, innovation and premium quality.
The completely new Nissan Tatan will be launched in 2026 and its sale will also begin in the same year. It will be built at the Chennai plant, a common plant in Nissan and Reno. It will be the second model under Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy, which will be exported to select foreign markets along with sales in India.
It will be a powerful and premium C-SUV that is created for those who are shaping their world with their career, passion or lifestyle. Tekton has been designed in such a way that it can get firmly in the strict competition of the compact SUV segment. It is expected that this SUV will give a direct competition to popular vehicles like Hyundai Creta, Kia Celtos, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyder.
In terms of design, Nissan Tekton has been inspired by the company’s famous petrol SUV. Its front has strong lower bumper, powerful bonnet and C-shaped LED headlamps, giving it a strong and stylish look on the road.
The side profile is equally attractive and a “double-C” design is given on the front doors.
At the back, Nissan Tekton has a red LED light bar spread over the width, which adds its C-shaped tail lamps and gives it a premium and powerful look. The big “Tekton” nameplate on the tailgate makes the identity of this SUV even more special.
Saurabh Vats, Managing Director of Nissan Motor in India, said, “The new Nissan Tekton shows the direction and thinking of our upcoming products. With its strong look, bold design and premium interior, we are confident that this SUV will do a new explosion in its segment and those customers will be particularly liked by those who want strength and styling.
Although its interior information has not been revealed yet, it is clear from the initial photos that its cabin will be focused on comfort and luxury. It uses premium material, soft-touch surface and modern technology.
It is expected that its infotainment system and driver-astist features will be at the forefront of their segment, which will further strengthen Nissan’s technology-focused brand image.
