New Delhi, 8 October (IANS). The month of Kartik month has started from Wednesday, which will remain till 5 November 2025. In terms of both religion and health, this month is necessary for everyone.
Kartik month is called the month of festivals and can erase sins up to the generations of donations made this month. This month, big festivals like Devshayani Ekadashi, Deepawali, Dhanteras, Karva Chauth, Ahoi Vrat, Govardhan Puja, Bhaiya Dooj, Chhath Puja, Gopashtami, Akshay Navami, Tulsi Vivah, and Dev Diwali come.
It is believed that Ganga bath must be taken in Kartik month. Donating grains, fruits, clothes and things needed after taking bath in the Ganges is auspicious. If you are not able to go to the ghat, then you can take a bath by mixing Ganga water in the house. Apart from this, it is considered very good to donate lamps this month. Deep donation is very important in our religion. It is said that by donating a lamp, Goddess Lakshmi is pleased and provides happiness and prosperity to the house. Apart from this, salvation and sins are liberated and get rid of the planetary defects, especially the negative effects of Rahu-Ketu and Yama.
Kartik month is also called the month of infection that because the weather changes and many diseases can be disturbed this month. In this season, there are problems like fever, allergies, colds, and headache and pollution in metros like Delhi also starts increasing, which causes difficulty in breathing and skin related diseases.
In Ayurveda, what should be eaten in Kartik month and what not, all of them have been mentioned. Dhanvantari deity appeared in this month and it is considered good to consume Tulsi on an empty stomach in this month. Infections caused by consumption of basil can be avoided. Apart from this, it is also necessary to wake up in the morning and bathe with warm water. In Kartik month, brinjal, curd and products made from it, bitter gourd, fruit and pulses should not be consumed. In this month, more should be consumed by vegetables growing inside the ground. It includes radish, carrots, sweet potato and gymikand. These vegetables are less likely to have infection and they also keep the body healthy.
