BJP has fiercely targeted the Trinamool Congress government and Chief Minister Mayawati in the gang rape case of a second year medical student of IQ City Medical College and Hospital in Durgapur, West Bengal. BJP leader and Union Minister Sukant Majumdar has said that under the failed and chaotic rule of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal has become a nightmare for women’s safety. Across the state, from villages to cities, from hospitals to homes, women are not safe anywhere. The administration’s deliberate appeasement policy has paralyzed police investigations, giving violent criminals a free hand. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari said, from Kolkata to Durgapur, the women of Bengal are paying the price of the system that has collapsed under Mamata Banerjee’s rule. Law and order has broken down in the state. Fear is roaming freely and security has become a luxury. Mamata Banerjee is the biggest obstacle to women’s safety in Bengal. People are angry in Durgapur, with students, doctors and citizens demanding justice and accountability from a government that has repeatedly failed to protect women.

Meanwhile, BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya, while attacking the TMC government, said that the Durgapur incident has refreshed the horrific memories of the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital case. People are demanding quick justice and accountability from Mamata Banerjee government. West Bengal is unsafe for women. Please note that the victim is a resident of Odisha. She had gone for dinner with a friend on Friday night. Wasif Ali and his associates forcibly took her hostage and took her to the forest and gang-raped her.
