Heli service, which has been closed from June 15, is going to resume. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has lifted the ban on shuttle flights of Haley Seva in Chardham Yatra. In the second phase of the journey, Haley Seva for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib will start from September 15. On the instructions of DGCA, UCADA has reduced the number of shuttle services and increased the fare. Booking of heli services for Kedarnath Dham will start from 10 September. Booking of heli services on IRCTC website heliyatra.irctc.co.in will start from September 10. Under the second phase, heli services will be operated with seven heli operators.
The DGCA had instructed to reduce the shuttle operation by 30 percent. In this case, seven heli operators will fly 8 hours per day. This year, during the first phase of the Chardham Yatra, the helicopters that were offering their services were operating 250 to 270 shuttle per side per side. Haley operators have also been reduced by flying time. In the second phase, seven heli operators will be able to operate 184 shuttle per side.
Baba Kedarnath Dham has become expensive to visit by helicopter. The fare of passengers going from Guptkashi to Kedarnath Dham has been increased from Rs 8532 to Rs 12444, the fare from Phata to Kedarnath Dham has been increased from Rs 6082 to Rs 8900 and the fare from Sirsi to Kedarnath Dham has been increased from Rs 6060 to Rs 8400. There has been no increase in the fare of the helicopter for Hemkund Sahib. The DGCA did not impose any ban on this helicopter service.
