Chandigarh. This time Sher Panel has won the annual elections of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU). Giving information, Election Officer Malkiat Singh Papaneja and his assistants Bhupinder Singh, Gurmel Singh and Kuldeep Singh said that this time four panels were in the fray. The elections were conducted peacefully. While declaring the election results, he said that the total votes were 1553 out of which a total of 1507 voters cast their votes. 9 votes were declared void leaving valid votes at 1498. In the four-way competition, the main competition was between the lion party and the railway engine party. The winning panel got 695 votes and the Rail Engine Party got 681 votes. Apart from these, Cross Mashal got 73 votes and Dhanush Party got 49 votes. On behalf of Sher Panel, Azad Singh had contested for the post of President, Satinder Singh Deputy President, Balbir Singh General Secretary and Govind Contested for the post of Treasurer. After winning, President Azad Singh said that he will take full care of the interests of CTU workers and will get their problems resolved on priority basis.
