Mumbai, November 3 (IANS). Multi-asset exchange NSE International Exchange (NSEIX) on Monday said Nifty’s international futures contract – GIFT Nifty – has recorded the highest ever monthly turnover of $106.22 billion in October.
Earlier, the highest monthly turnover of $102.35 billion was recorded in May 2025. During this period, about 2.11 million contracts were traded.
The achievement reflects investors’ confidence in GIFT Nifty as a benchmark for India’s growth story, the exchange statement said.
Since the start of full-scale operations on July 3, 2023, GIFT Nifty has recorded over 52.77 million contracts and a total turnover of $2.40 trillion by October 2025.
Trading turnover on NSEIX has been growing rapidly since the commencement of full-scale operations of GIFT Nifty.
According to NSE, “We are pleased to see the success of GIFT Nifty and we heartily thank all the participants for their tremendous support and making GIFT Nifty a successful contract.”
The exchange had earlier reported that GIFT Nifty achieved record open interest (OI) on October 24, 2025. GIFT Nifty saw an open interest of 4,10,100 contracts, worth $21.23 billion or Rs 1,86,226 crore.
NSEIX, based in GIFT City, was established on June 5, 2017 and is accredited by the International Financial Services Centers Authority.
NSEIX offers investors Indian single stock derivatives, index derivatives, currency derivatives, depository receipts and global stocks. The exchange also offers a full range of primary market products including equity shares, SPACs, REITs, investibles, depositary receipts, debt securities and ESG debt securities.
In October, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched the Foreign Exchange Settlement System at GIFT City to promote international trade, investment and ease of doing business.
