Hamirpur. The terror of sandalwood smugglers in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh is constantly increasing. Last week, where the incidents of cutting four sandalwood trees were revealed, now another sandalwood tree in ward number 10 was cut and stolen by smugglers. This incident is reported to be at around 1 pm on Wednesday. Local people are in panic due to frequent sandalwood theft incidents in Hamirpur.
This time Pradeep Thakur, a resident of ward number 10, has become a victim of smugglers. He says that he brought this sandalwood tree from Forestry College Neri 25 years ago and continued to look after it like children. When he found the tree cut on Thursday morning, he was shocked. Pradeep Thakur immediately reported the complaint on number 112 and filed a complaint. He further explained that if someone needed sandalwood in the neighborhood, then sandalwood was taken from this tree.
Local resident Tilak Raj Thakur said that an old sandalwood tree thieves bitten at around 1:00 pm on Wednesday night. The vicious people cleverly cut a 9 -foot part, which no one even got a clue. He feared that the thieves must have done the tree Reiki a few days ago. He further said that earlier, sandalwood trees were cut at the NIT of Hamirpur city and another place. So far no vicious forest department has caught up. He has demanded from the police and administration that such criminals should be arrested soon.
At the same time, DFO Ankit Singh of Hamirpur Forest Department confirmed that sandalwood tree has been reported from private land. He said that earlier such incidents have happened in the NIT area and other places of the city, but no accused have been caught so far. He further said that the forest workers have been instructed for night patrolling so that such gangs can be caught.
