New Delhi, November 12 (). The Indian team registered its second consecutive win in the Visually Impaired Women’s T20 World Cup. The Indian team won the match played against Australia on Wednesday by a huge margin of 209 runs.
Batting first, the Indian team scored 292 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Deepika TC B3 played an inning of 91 runs in 58 balls. Phula Saren B3 scored 54 not out off 22 balls, Anekha Devi B2 scored 14, Anu Kumari B1 scored 14 and Kavya V B1 scored 12 not out. Apart from this, the Indian team got 52 extra runs and 26 penalty runs.
Australia, chasing the target of 293 runs, was all out for 57 runs in 19.3 overs.
Deepika TC B3 was adjudged player of the match.
India won its first match against Sri Lanka.
The first match of the day was played between Nepal and Sri Lanka. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 87 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. B3 Mihirani Dulanjali had scored 23 runs. For Nepal, Kanti Yogi took 3 wickets for 21 runs. Binita Pun took 1 wicket for 11 runs.
Nepal achieved the target of 88 runs in 5.2 overs. Mankeshi Chaudhary played an unbeaten inning of 61 runs with the help of 11 fours in 22 balls. On the basis of this explosive innings of Mankeshi, Nepal defeated Sri Lanka by 9 wickets. Mankeshi Chaudhary was the player of the match.
The Visually Impaired Women’s T20 World Cup is being jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The tournament will be played from 11 to 23 November. Teams from India, Australia, England, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and America are participating in the World Cup.
