Mumbai, November 14 (). Maharashtra Congress leader and former Mumbai president Bhai Jagtap reacted to the issues like exit polls, SIR and vote theft related to Bihar elections.
Congress leader Bhai Jagtap, while talking to , said on the exit poll that the way the EVMs and the entire staff are deployed, then the way the results are declared, it has no significance. This will not last very long, because the people of the country have come to know that they are being cheated. The biggest wound that the Election Commission is giving them is that people’s right to vote under the Constitution is also being taken away from them. Votes are being stolen.
He said that after the elections are over, all the machines stop. After this the policemen bring the EVM machine and then they are chased away. The people of Bihar are certainly poor, but they know what is happening to them. People have made ministers and MLAs of the governments run away. The people of Bihar will not tolerate vote theft at all. India is the world’s largest democracy.
On RJD leader’s statement that if there are irregularities in the elections, a situation like Nepal would be created, he said that this should not happen, but it is happening. He said that all this is happening in Leh, Ladakh, and Assam. Same thing is happening in Manipur also. The country is turbulent today. If something goes wrong in the elections, then Champaran like movement will start from Bihar once again and the government will have to answer. People’s patience has broken. People are not being allowed to vote.
The Congress leader said that even after 77 years of independence, if the people of the country have to see this day, then they will take to the streets. The government will have to face the public. He said that the government is using the Election Commission. He said that if a democracy like India disintegrates, it will take many years to get back on track.
