The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) strongly condemned the Pahalgam terror attack and agreed to India’s stance on Monday that “double criteria” are unacceptable in the fight against terrorism.
The influential group listed its determination to fight terrorism in an announcement in the end of its two -day annual summit held in the Chinese port city of Tianjin. The summit was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and many other world leaders.
SCO member countries condemned these attacks due to a large number of common people being casualties and a horrific human situation in Gaza Strip in military attacks carried out by Israel in Gaza.
The manifesto mentions measures to increase regional security and tackled terrorism as a major challenge.
It said, “The member countries strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April.”
SCO member countries also condemned the terrorist attacks on Khujdar and Jafar Express in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
According to the manifesto, “he (member countries) expressed his deep sympathy and condolences to the families of casualties.” He said that the culprits, organizers and sponsors of such attacks should be brought into the dock of justice.
It states that the SCO emphasizes the rejection of efforts to use terrorists, separatist and extremist groups for “the purpose of selfishness”, confirming its firm commitment to the fight against terrorism, separatism and extremism.
The SCO stated that it recognizes the leading role of sovereign countries and their competent authorities in combating terrorists and extremist threats.
It states, “Member countries strongly condemn all forms and expressions of terrorism. They emphasize that double criteria are unacceptable in the fight against terrorism and they call the international community to combat terrorism including cross -border activities of terrorists.
The SCO said that the United Nations has a central role in this regard to fully implement the United Nations Charter and the principles of international law, the United Nations Security Council proposal and the United Nations Global Terrorism Strategy fully implemented the anti-terrorism strategy to combat all terrorist groups jointly.
