The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said on Monday that a terrorist has been killed in an encounter in Guddar forest in Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir.
The army said that a junior commission officer was injured during the fierce encounter. The encounter was based on a specific intelligence input received by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and a joint search operation was carried out in the area between the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Srinagar CRPF.
In a post on X, the Chinar Corps stated, “COP Gudder, Kulgam. Based on specific intelligence input by JKP, a joint search operation was launched in the Gudder Jungle of #Kulgam by #Indian Sena, @jmukmrpolice and @crpf_srinagar.”
The army further said, “Vigilant soldiers saw suspicious activity and terrorists started firing when challenged, after which a fierce firing took place, in which a terrorist was killed and a junior commission officer was injured. The operation is on.
An encounter started in the Guddar forest this morning. Kashmir Regional Police said that the special campaign group, army and CRPF of Jammu and Kashmir are present on the spot. Kashmir Regional Police said in a post on X that the encounter started on the basis of a specific intelligence information.
