Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) supremo YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday congratulated the Indian women’s Kabaddi team on winning its second consecutive World Cup title.
The Indian women’s Kabaddi team won the title by defeating Chinese Taipei 35-28 in Dhaka on Monday. India topped the 11-nation tournament.
Chief Minister Naidu praised the determination and strength of the team and said that their excellent performance in Dhaka had made the country proud.
“Congratulations to the Indian women’s Kabaddi team on winning their second consecutive World Cup title by defeating Chinese Taipei 35-28 in Dhaka. It is a proud moment for the country,” Naidu said in a post on ‘X’.
The Chief Minister said that this victory reflects the growing dominance of women in Indian sports and inspires the young generation to aim higher. Similarly, Reddy also congratulated the players. He said that this remarkable achievement has been achieved due to discipline, ‘team work’ and perseverance.
“Congratulations to our Indian women’s kabaddi team for winning the World Cup and making the country proud. Winning the World Championship for the second consecutive time reflects the discipline, determination and teamwork of our girls,” the YSRCP chief said in a post. Undefeated India remained in excellent form throughout the tournament.
India entered the final by defeating Iran 33-21. Whereas Chinese Taipei defeated host Bangladesh 25-18 in the semi-finals.
