Chandigarh. MP Deepender Hooda, while reacting on the Aravali issue today, said that the whole of India is angry over this issue. The world’s oldest mountain range not only has a big place in our civilization and traditions, but it is also like a lifeline for India. Today, a big sword has been hanged on Aravali by such a decision, in which it has been said that if any hill is less than a hundred meters, then it should not be considered as Aravali. No one is able to understand this decision, nor is anyone able to accept this decision. Deependra Hooda said that the government has become a toy in the hands of the mining mafia and it has no concern with the common people. It seems that this policy has been made for the mining mafia. This policy has been made to destroy Aravali, it is not acceptable at all. He said that the government should not consider the Aravali hills as unclaimed, we all are involved in the fight to save Aravali and will fight together with the countrymen to protect it. We will not allow even an inch of Aravali to be spoiled by the bad intentions of the government. The mountain range which has supported our ancestors for centuries will not be allowed by the government to fall victim to the greed of the mining mafia, real estate mafia and big rich industrialists. He said that this decision will hit Haryana the most, because most of the Aravalli hills in Haryana will be considered to be less than a hundred meters in height and this standard of 100 meters will be measured not from sea level but above the nearest flat land. This mountain range, which saved our civilization from turning into a desert, will come under the grip of this decision; almost the entire state of Haryana and what is left of Delhi will also come under the grip of this decision. He said that if it is a matter of less than 100 meters, then not only Aravali, in the coming time Shivalik hills which are in Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar districts will also come under the grip of this decision. Deependra Hooda said that Aravali is like the lungs of entire North India which is helpful in providing clean air to the people. At a time when the air pollution in Haryana, in Delhi, if not the highest in the country, in our region is the highest in the world, the government would have taken the decision to plant more trees in the Aravalli mountains and in the Aravalli forests. But, the government advocated in the Supreme Court that all the mountains less than a hundred meters falling in Aravali should not be considered as Aravali. The government which talks about ending pollution is actually increasing it. Nothing could be more unfortunate than this. Deependra Hooda said that after the kind of arguments put forward by the government in the Supreme Court to get this decision approved, there is a question mark in the hearts of the people of the country regarding the intentions of the government. The government advocating this decision in the Supreme Court will have to think again.
He said that Raisina Hill, the hill at the extreme end of the Aravalli mountain range, is a part of the most polluted city in the world and the Parliament is located here where all the policies of the country are decided. The last mountain of Aravalli gradually became level, the forests inside Delhi ended and the concrete jungle increased, the settlement increased and today the situation has become such that the residents of Delhi are forced to face the highest air pollution in the world. If the government does not withdraw this decision, then an army of people suffering from asthma and other chest related diseases will arise in NCR.
