According to Sindhu Gangadharan, MD, SAP Labs India, and Chairperson, NASSCOM, the industry has built a strong foundation in AI, cloud, cyber security and digital platforms, supported by the talent and ecosystem of startups, GCC and global enterprises.
He said, “The next chapter is about converting potential into lasting business and social impact. AI adoption is becoming more precise and based on real use cases. Companies are asking clear questions about productivity, flexibility and trust.”
Companies expect technology to be easily integrated into core processes, rather than lying on the sidelines as an experiment. This change places the onus on the industry to design solutions that are safe, understandable, and aligned with long-term value creation.
Gangadharan further added, “India is well positioned to lead this phase. Our strength lies in combining engineering depth with domain understanding and execution at scale. As an industry, success in 2026 will depend on how well we collaborate across ecosystems, invest in skills, and apply technology for the right purposes.”
There is a huge opportunity ahead to strengthen the enterprise, empower people, and further strengthen India’s role as a trusted global technology partner.
By 2026, the true measure of AI success will be its ability to deliver consistent, context-aware results for customers.
“We are seeing a clear shift away from generic intelligence to AI that understands the nuances of an enterprise, its data, processes, policies and customer behavior. Customer-specific AI performs better,” he said.
