Many incidents of cyber fraud have come to light in the last one year. Many people’s bank accounts have become empty due to online scams. According to cybercrime portal, around 6,000 people become victims of cyber fraud every day in India. The government is also running many campaigns to deal with this problem. Often, victims of cyber fraud do not realize what is happening to them and fall into the trap of criminals. Most of the people become victims of ghost hacking through smartphones. If you do not want to become a victim of online fraud in 2026, then immediately enable these two settings in your smartphone.
It is easy for cyber criminals to target Android users. They send app links to users through messages, WhatsApp or other methods. As soon as the user clicks on these links, malware gets installed on their phone. This malware steals private information from the user’s smartphone and also gives access to the device to hackers. Therefore, users should enable two settings in their phones to prevent hackers from installing any apps. This method will prevent hackers from gaining access to the phone and prevent online fraud.
Enable these two settings:
First of all, Android users need to stop the installation of third-party apps on their phones. For this, the user has to go to the settings of his phone. Then, search ‘Install Unknown Apps’ in the search option. After searching, tap on ‘Install Unknown Apps’ from the options that appear and disable the permission to install unknown apps for the apps in the list. By default, it is usually set to ‘Not Allowed’, but if for some reason it remains enabled in the phone, hackers can install unknown malware apps on your phone without your permission.

After this, again go to your phone’s Settings and search for ‘Google Play Protect’ and enable it. This setting will tell you whether an app is genuine or not when you install apps from the Google Play Store. This will ensure that only the apps listed on Google Play are installed on your phone. Additionally, it will scan the apps installed on your phone to check for any malware. In this way, you can protect your phone from the control of hackers.
