The period of approximately 16 hours after the Sun enters Capricorn is considered auspicious. On this basis, according to Kashi Panchang, the festival of Makar Sankranti will be celebrated with devotion and rituals on Thursday, January 15. Bathing, charity and chanting done on this day will provide special virtue.

On this day, Sun God enters the zodiac sign of his son Shani Dev in Capricorn, which is a symbol of mutual love, harmony and coordination.
He told that with Makar Sankranti the Sun sets Uttarayan and Kharmas comes to an end. After this, marriage, housewarming and other auspicious functions begin. For this reason the religious and spiritual importance of Makar Sankranti increases even more.
