New Delhi, January 16 (IANS). Nowadays, gray hair is no longer just a sign of aging. Due to many reasons like changing lifestyle, irregular eating habits, increasing stress, lack of sleep and constant screen light of mobile-laptop, hair has started turning gray at an early age.
Whereas earlier this problem used to appear after the age of forty-fifty, now graying of hair is being seen even in school-college going youth. In such a situation, people want immediate solution. Coloring hair frequently is neither good for health nor does everyone have that much time.
In Ayurveda, hair is considered a mirror of the internal health of the body. Ayurveda believes that when the balance of Vata and Pitta in the body gets disturbed, it directly affects the hair roots. At the same time, science also believes that hair becomes white due to lack of a pigment called melanin. Melanin is the element that gives black color to hair. When there is stress, oxidative stress, or nutritional deficiency, melanin production is reduced. In such a situation, some natural things can help.
Fennel is one of those natural things. Generally we know fennel for digestion, but in Ayurveda it is considered a destroyer of Tridosha. Fennel contains antioxidants, flavonoids, and some natural elements that fight free radicals. According to science, antioxidants protect the hair roots from oxidative damage. This damage becomes a major reason for premature graying of hair.
The natural pigments present in fennel create a light dark coating on the hair. This method does not darken the hair from within, but helps hide the gray hair temporarily.
The process of this home remedy is also very simple. First of all, fennel is soaked in clean water for some time so that its impurities are removed. After this, it is roasted on low flame and burnt completely. When fennel burns and turns into black ash, it is cooled and ground very finely. This powder is applied on white hair. Its effect lasts for a day and may go away the next time you wash your hair.
If the problem of gray hair is continuously increasing, then both Ayurveda and science advise to improve the diet, do not take stress, and make the body strong from inside.
