Mumbai, January 22 (IANS). The political temperature in the state is rising amid the SIR process before the West Bengal Assembly elections. The ruling party TMC is continuously alleging that there is no transparency in the SIR process and NRC is being done under the guise of this. Meanwhile, actress Munmun Sen, who created a sensation by giving bold scenes in the 80s, has given a controversial statement regarding NRC.
The actress says that whoever has thought of starting NRC is probably not in his right mind.
Munmun Sen, who made her Bollywood debut in the year 1984 with the film ‘Andar Bahar’, while talking to the media, said, “I have seen one of my drivers, the poor guy’s parents are uneducated, farmers and he does not have any documents. His father did not even have a ration card. So, first of all you have to prove that you are your father’s son, only then they will be able to understand, know or read the documents related to your father. They are just officers who Doing my job.”
The actress further adds, “Whoever came up with the idea of this NRC should visit our institute NIMANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences). Whoever has taken the decision to start NRC is mentally unstable.”
Politics regarding NRC has been going on in Bengal for a long time. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has already made it clear that she will not allow NRC and SIR to be implemented in the state.
Munmun Sen started her political career with Trinamool Congress in 2014 and also won the Lok Sabha elections from Bankura for the first time, however, she lost from Asansol to BJP’s Babul Supriyo in 2019. In her political career, the actress was always in the news for her glamor and controversial statements. She wanted to see Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the post of Prime Minister. However, after 2019, his hold in politics gradually decreased and now he is completely away from it.
