Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday expressed deep grief over the tragic road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district in which ten army personnel lost their lives.

In a post on Twitter, PM Modi said that the service of army personnel to the nation will always be remembered.

Prime Minister Modi wrote, “I am deeply distressed by the accident in Doda, in which we lost our brave military personnel. Their service to the nation will always be remembered. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. All possible assistance is being provided to the affected people.”

Apart from PM Modi, President Draupadi Murmu, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad expressed grief over this accident.

The country’s President Draupadi Murmu wrote on Instagram, “The news of the death of Indian Army soldiers in a road accident in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir is extremely sad. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers.”

Home Minister Amit Shah In a post on Twitter, Shah said he was “deeply saddened” by the accident and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. He also said that high level medical care is being provided to the injured soldiers.

He said, “I am deeply saddened by the road accident in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. I express my deepest condolences to the families of the brave soldiers we have lost in this tragic incident. The injured soldiers are being provided the best medical care. I pray to God that all the soldiers get well soon.”

“I am deeply distressed by the tragic road accident in Doda in which we lost 10 brave Indian Army soldiers. My heartfelt condolences are with the bereaved families,” the Defense Minister said in a post on Twitter.

Singh said the injured soldiers are receiving medical care and all necessary instructions have been given to ensure the best possible treatment.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed grief over the tragic accident. The Chief Minister’s Office informed in a post on Twitter that rescue and evacuation efforts are underway.

The Chief Minister has expressed deep condolence over the tragic accident involving an army vehicle at Khannitop on the Bhadarwah-Chamba road. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred soldiers and wished speedy recovery of the injured and appreciated the prompt rescue and evacuation efforts.

“We will always remember the outstanding service and supreme sacrifice of our brave soldiers,” LG Sinha said in a post on Twitter.

“In this hour of grief, the entire nation stands in solidarity and support with the bereaved families,” the Lieutenant Governor said. He further said that he has instructed senior officials to ensure the best possible treatment.

Expressing grief over the accident, Congress President Kharge called for strengthening road safety measures to prevent such deaths.

“My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and loved ones. The entire nation stands united in deep grief and we pray for the speedy recovery of the injured,” he wrote.

“Many such incidents have happened in the past as well. There is an urgent need to strengthen road infrastructure, improve mobility in inaccessible areas and implement road safety measures to prevent such heart-wrenching accidents,” he said.

Azad of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party said, “My deepest condolences to the bereaved families and I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

Army Northern Commander said that General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma and all ranks of the Command salute the brave hearts and express heartfelt condolences on the untimely demise of the soldiers who lost their lives in the unfortunate vehicular accident.

“All members of the Northern Command stand in solidarity with the bereaved families and wish speedy recovery to those injured in the accident,” a post on Twitter said.

Earlier, an army vehicle met with an accident in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, in which ten soldiers were martyred. An equal number of soldiers were also injured in this accident.

According to official sources, the incident occurred in Khani Top area of ​​Bhaderwah, following which immediate rescue and relief operations were launched.

According to the White Knight Corps, the army vehicle carrying troops for an operation skidded off the road while passing through a dangerous area in bad weather.

“In an unfortunate incident, an army vehicle carrying troops skidded off the road due to bad weather and difficult terrain in the area around Doda. The accident resulted in several casualties, some of whom have died. The injured have been taken to hospital for further treatment,” the White Knight Corps said.

Soon after the accident, Army and local administration teams reached the spot and started rescue operations despite the difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions. The injured personnel were given first aid at the spot and later airlifted to Udhampur for specialized medical treatment.

Doda Deputy Commissioner (DC) Harvinder Singh said the presence of snow on the Bhaderwah-Chamba road was the main reason for the tragic accident.

Singh said, “A tragic accident occurred on the Bhadarwah-Chamba road. A total of 10 soldiers were martyred. Out of the 11 injured, 10 seriously injured soldiers have been airlifted to Command Hospital Udhampur. The bodies of the martyred soldiers are being handed over to their families. According to the initial report, the accident occurred due to snow on the road.”
