Gandhinagar, 14 September (). On the occasion of Hindi Day, the 5th All India Official Language Conference was held in Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat. Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the event and welcomed the scholars of the official language and Indian languages from all over the country.
In his address, Union Home Minister Shah said that today is a special occasion for me, because the enthusiasts of the official language and Indian language have gathered from all over the country. This is also my parliamentary constituency and I warmly welcome all of you.
Underlining the importance of the conference, he said that this ceremony was previously held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, but for the last five years, the tradition of organizing it in different parts of the country has been started.
He said that after 2021, the 5th All India Official Language Conference is being held outside Delhi. From our experience of the last four conferences, we know that it brings new approaches, energy and inspiration.
The Union Home Minister said that this change has given us a great opportunity to communicate and exchange between the official language and other Indian languages. Referring to the characteristics of Gujarat, he said that even though it is not a Hindi -speaking state, it has always been a tradition to adopt and pursue Hindi.
He emphasized that great personalities like Dayanand Saraswati, Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel not only accepted Hindi, but also played a leading role in its promotion.
He said that when all the work is in the language of the people, the contact with the public increases automatically. The charioteer is a system of translation. It is a system to easily translate from Hindi to all languages of India. I want to say proudly to all governments across the country that you give us a letter in your language and the Ministry of Home Affairs will answer in your own language, we have made this arrangement. In the coming days, we will further enrich it.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said in his address that today on the occasion of Hindi Day, I heartily greet all of you and welcome you on the holy land of Gujarat. Today, the 5th All India Official Language Conference is being held in Gandhinagar. Under the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Department of Official Language has made efforts like Digital Hindi Dictionary ‘Sindhu’. Through these efforts, more than 7 lakh words have been included in the dictionary ‘Sindhu’.
