While AI is making our lives easier by completing tasks in less time, its dangers are also no less. One such truth of AI is that it is gradually depleting the earth’s resources. Do you know that when you ask AI even a simple question, it consumes a lot of water and electricity to answer it? This never-ending hunger for AI could lead the world to a water and electricity crisis. Now, Elon Musk, who has stunned the world with his electric cars and rockets, has found a solution to this problem.

To reduce the increasing water and electricity consumption of AI data centers, Musk is now preparing to move these data centers from Earth to space. Its advantage will be that with the help of solar power, electricity will be available all the time. But will it be possible to keep these machines cool in space? Let’s understand the details of Musk’s plan…

Know about Musk’s mega plan
Elon Musk has recently merged his AI company with SpaceX. Musk’s goal is to create a network of about 1 million satellites in space. Musk believes that due to the increasing use of AI and chatbots, the pressure on the Earth’s power grid will increase significantly in the future, which may lead to the risk of blackouts. Sunlight is available in space 24 hours a day, so these data centers will be able to draw electricity from solar power all the time. Musk said that in the next 30 to 36 months, space will be the best place for AI.

the path is not easy
However, Musk’s plan is not easy. Experts have also raised questions on this. Scientists say that keeping data centers cool in space is the biggest challenge. Computer chips generate a lot of heat while working. On Earth they are cooled by water or air, but due to the vacuum in space, the heat cannot escape. Plus, there’s a lot of space debris already in orbit. By sending 1 million satellites, the risk of collision will increase significantly, which can damage the global communication system. If a chip fails in space, it would be very expensive to replace.

This work will be easy for Musk
Google and Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin are also in the race, but Musk has a big advantage: He has his own rockets. Experts say that Musk himself charges very little to send equipment into space using his rocket, while his competitors have to pay ten times more.
