New Delhi, February 6 (IANS). During the motion of thanks on President Draupadi Murmu’s address in the Rajya Sabha, political rhetoric has intensified regarding Prime Minister Modi’s address. Congress MP Sukhdev Bhagat reacted to PM Modi’s speech.
Congress MP Sukhdev Bhagat told IANS that the Prime Minister’s speech seemed less like a vote of thanks and more like an election rally of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He said that there were many things in the speech, but no solution to any problem was visible. According to Sukhdev Bhagat, where there should have been a factual discussion, the Prime Minister was seen talking emotionally.
On the Prime Minister’s comment regarding ‘Gandhi surname’, he said that Congress has not stolen the name Gandhi, but Gandhi has settled in his veins. He sarcastically said that those who follow Godse’s ideology will naturally avoid Gandhi.
Sukhdev Bhagat also reacted to the ongoing controversy regarding the name of Netflix’s ‘Ghooskhor Pandit’ film. He said that everyone has freedom of expression, but it is also important that no one’s sentiments are hurt. He said that despite the clarification given by the film’s director, care should be taken that no section of the society is hurt.
At the same time, Congress MP Imran Masood said about ‘Bribery Pandit’ that he does not know much about it, but if someone’s sentiments are attached to it, then they should not be hurt. He clearly said that sensitivity is necessary in any creative work.
Responding to Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement, Imran Masood said that the use of poisonous language by a person holding a constitutional post is very serious and unfortunate. He said that such words create tension in the society and should be avoided.
